Islands Restaurant
Islands is a beach themed restaurant with American food. There are three Islands restaurants in the Sacramento area. The menu includes mostly hamburgers, with a few salads, sandwiches and tacos. Since this is a family restaurant, Islands is a good place to take preschoolers.
Advantages of Islands Restaurant for Preschoolers:
Kids Menu
Cute kids coloring page that includes finding shapes in a picture and a connect-the-dots activity.
Kid friendly foods such as grilled cheeses, chicken strips and of course, hamburgers.
Non-French fry options of carrot sticks—though you may have to ask your server for this option.
Kid’s meals include drinks.
The Restaurant
The restaurants have many booths making it easy to corral a squirmy preschooler
This is a family restaurant, so you don’t have to worry about your preschooler making too much noise or acting out.
The beach theme includes lots of stuff for preschoolers to look at including plastic parrots and televisions showing surfing and snowboarding.
Disadvantages of Islands Restaurant for Preschoolers:
The Wait
Islands becomes very busy on the weekends. It may be better for you to go to Islands on a weekday or for lunch. Take out is also an option if you want Island’s foods, but don’t want to deal with the wait.
The Price
For some pretty basic hamburgers, Islands can quickly turn into an expensive outing.
