Preschool Friendly Restaurant - Outback Steakhouse
Advantages of Outback Steakhouse for Preschoolers
The Food:
Outback Steakhouse has a wonderful kid’s menu full of favorites like chicken fingers, grilled cheese and macaroni and cheese (ask for a side of broccoli to make it healthier). There are kid friendly appetizers such as cheese fries. Honey wheat bread comes with the salads and is a favorite of many preschoolers. In addition, food comes constantly after you order, keeping preschoolers that are hungry from getting wiggly.
The Tables:
Most of the tables are booths, a big benefit for those preschoolers that need to be corralled.
Servers:
Servers have small sections and should be attentive for you and your preschooler’s needs.
Activity Book:
Preschoolers receive a coloring book complete with crayons.
Disadvantages of Outback Steakhouse for Preschoolers
The Wait:
Outback Steakhouse is usually busy, with long waits on the weekend. They do offer call-ahead-seating to help with the wait, but for families with preschoolers, a weekday may be a better bet.
The Restaurant Itself:
Outback Steakhouse is usually crowded, especially in the lobby and bar. It's dimly lit, noisy and servers move quickly in and out of the kitchen with big, heavy trays, making it hard to see children running around the restaurant.
Costs:
Adult entrees are a bit pricey.
Time:
It takes about an hour from when you are seated to when you pay. This may be too long for some preschoolers.
