Sacramento Parks

Photo © Theresa HalvorsenAs the 'City of Trees', Sacramento is full of parks. But so many of them seem the same, or they’re unsuitable for a preschooler’s needs. The following featured parks in the Sacramento area are preschool friendly, unique and I’ve cued you to anything you need to watch out for at these parks.

Featured Sacramento Preschool Parks

McKinley Park
McKinley Park in East Sacramento is one of the older parks in Sacramento. With a softball diamond, tennis courts and a basketball court, it’s popular with east Sacramento families and joggers. It also has lots of open spaces, old trees and plenty of picnic benches.  But is it a good park for preschoolers?

Miwok Park
Miwok Park (or the castle park) is a creative and preschool friendly park in Elk Grove. Turrents, towers, swings, slides, monkey bars, transition bridges and other great things will meet your preschooler at this Sacramento preschool park. And the great thing about Miwok park is that it has a section for preschoolers, with swings and monkey bars just their size.
