Texas West Barbeque

Texas West Barbeque is one of the many family restaurants popping up everywhere in Sacramento that is between fast food and full-service dining. These restaurants tend to be cheaper than full-service dining, but more expensive than fast food. The food is generally made to order and healthier than fast food, but you can get in and out faster than in a full-service dining restaurant. 

 

There are two Texas West Barbeques in the Sacramento area, one in Roseville and the other in Sacramento by Arden. Find out if this is a good restaurant to take a preschooler.

The Kids menu consists of preschooler favorites such as corn dogs, chicken strips and hamburgers, all served with fries. There is one healthier option of grilled chicken. Kid’s entrees include a fountain drink.

 

Kids eat free at Texas West Barbeque on Mondays and Tuesdays. While the kid’s menu isn’t expensive, this can be a money saving option, especially if you have more than one child.

 

Texas West Barbeques have many televisions in its different restaurants. The sound is turned down, but many preschoolers become hyponitized by television, giving you some peace and quiet. Of course, depending on your views on television, this may not be a good thing. 

 

There’s plenty of open space between tables, giving you a good spot for your preschooler, if your preschool refuses to sit in their chair The servers do not walk around with trays, meaning servers may not accidently run into your preschooler, spilling trays and food. Of course, due to safety issues (restaurant floors are slippery and the location is not child-proof) you should never let your preschooler run around the restaurant without parental supervision. 

Children do not get an activity or coloring book to keep them busy while they wait for their food. 

 

Between the televisions and the jukebox style music, Texas West Barbeque can be a little loud. 

 

Full-service at the Roseville Location

The Roseville Texas West Barbeque is full-service now, so your server is available to bring your food, plus extra napkins and drink refills. This may be a huge benefit for families with preschoolers. However, the downsides are that you may be at Texas West Barbeque longer and you will have to tip your server.
